Abstract Residual dipolar coupling (RDC) not only contributes to the dynamic analysis of proteins but also provides a robust route for structure determination small organic compounds. An essential prerequisite this methodology is availability alignment media. Herein, series novel peptide‐based media are generated by introducing D‐type or halogen‐bearing amino acids RDC measurements. Compared with self‐assembled peptide liquid crystal (LC) medium containing D ‐amino acid, incorporation halogen elements improved electronegativity LCs, resulting in enhanced strength toward analytes. Meanwhile, LCs can provide different orientations relative non‐halogenated media, allowing acquirement independent sets RDCs. The presented enrich existing ignite way creating multiple independent, non‐linearly related measurement.

Abstract Helical polymer‐containing bottlebrush polymers (BBPs) are a special and fascinating type of polymer. They possess topology contain helical as main chains (MCs) or side (SCs), thereby presenting interesting fantastic properties, such chiral amplification, circularly polarized luminescence, photonic crystal, so on. This review mainly focuses on BBPs containing polypeptides, polyacetylenes (PAs), polyisocyanides (PIs). Detailed summarizations severally given to with polypeptides MCs SCs. Meanwhile, comprising PAs fully discussed. What's more, consisted PIs SCs described separately. In addition, other briefly introduced, too. Structural transformations from ribbons to twisted helical are often observed across supramolecular assemblies and macroscopic structures can be described under a consistent theoretical framework. Conical molecular self-assembled structures, however, rarely observed, may require more than one subunit, their dimensions hard control, poorly understood. Cytoskeleton microtubule (MT) is dynamic protein-polymer that self-assembles αβ-tubulin heterodimer, providing mechanical support Eukaryotic cells. Colchicine drug known bind the exchangeable nucleotide site on β-tubulin subunit suppress MT assembly. The tetravalent polyamine spermine promotes assembly tubulin spiral including conical spirals, tubules of inverted tubules. Here we show how colchicine as single agent suppressed ring already at substoichiometric concentrations, whereas in presence spermine, tubulin-colchicine stoichiometry controlled curvature assemblies. At fixed concentration, concentration modulated radii nanotubular structures. nanotubules monotonically decreased with concentration. We attribute our observation increased dimer induced by colchicine.
