Abstract Background Knowledge of developmental trends in meeting age-specific 24-hour movement behaviour guidelines is lacking. This study describes device-measured physical activity and sedentary time over a three-year period among Western Australian children aged two to seven years, including differences between boys girls. The proportion before after they transition full-time school was also examined. Methods Data from waves 1 2 the Play Spaces Environments for Children’s Physical Activity (PLAYCE) cohort were used (analysis n = 1217). measured by accelerometry at ages five (preschool, wave 1) (commenced school, 2). Accelerometer data processed using validated machine-learning classification model. Daily spent behaviour, energetic play (moderate-to-vigorous (MVPA)), total activity, analysed linear generalised mixed-effects models with age sex interaction terms. Results All behaviours changed significantly increasing age, similar Total daily increased then declined seven. Abstract Introduction Regular physical activity is important for children’s and mental health, yet many children do not achieve recommended amounts of activity. Dog ownership has been associated with increased in children, however, there have no longitudinal studies examining this relationship. This study used data from the Play Spaces Environments Children’s Physical Activity (PLAYCE) cohort to examine effects dog status on movement behaviours. Methods Change preschool (wave 1, age 2–5) fulltime school 2, 5–7) was as a natural experiment four distinct groups: continuing non-dog owners ( n = 307), 204), acquired 58), loss 31; total 600). Daily behaviours, including activity, sedentary time, sleep, screen were measured using accelerometry parent-report surveys. Differences between groups over time by sex tested linear mixed regression models. Results Girls who their light intensity activities games 52.0 min/day (95%CI 7.9, 96.0) girls lost decreased 62.1 -119.3, -4.9) compared change among owners. boys unstructured 6.8 3.2, 10.3) 7.1 3.9, occasions/week, changes reduced 10.2 -15.0, -5.3) 7.7 -12.0, -3.5) occasions/week. 46.3 -107.5, 14.8) Continuing typically group sleep had associations time. Conclusion The positive influence begins early childhood differs child sex. Further research should specific contributions dog-facilitated makes overall duration walking play.

The objective was to describe trajectories of physical activity (PA) measured by accelerometry during early childhood and test associations with sociodemographic, gestational, maternal, perinatal determinants.Data from 1798 children the 2015 Pelotas (Brazil) Birth Cohort were analyzed. PA wrist accelerometers at 1, 2, 4 years. estimated using group-based trajectory modeling, determinants tested Poisson regression robust variance. Two identified: Moderate high PA, both showing a linear increase in first years but differing volume. Girls (prevalence ratio [PR]: 0.91; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.88-0.94), highly educated mothers (PR: 0.93; CI, 0.88-0.97), birth weight 0.85-0.97) showed less probability trajectory. order ≥3 1.06; 1.01-1.11) associated higher likelihood trajectory.Children an years, 2 that differ levels. Female sex, maternal schooling, reduced having trajectory, while increased this probability. These characteristics should be considered when planning interventions for childhood.

Introduction: This study aimed to determine the association between cumulative maternal physical activity level and their children's in early childhood. We also compared influence of each on Methods: analyzed data from 1,067 Japanese mother-child pairs. Maternal was assessed using International Physical Activity Questionnaire. Cumulative mothers computed based categories (low, moderate, high) 5 time points (pre-pregnancy, during pregnancy, 1.5, 3.5, 5.5 years postpartum). Children's measured at age WHO Health Behaviour School-aged Children questionnaire defined as engaging for least 60 minutes per day more than days. Logistic regression analysis used levels. Results: The results showed positive (P trend < 0.001). Furthermore, pregnancy = 0.031) postpartum 0.001) positively associated with activity. Conclusion: A observed children age. were

Aineiston analyysi perustui opetussuunnitelmateoriaan asiasanojen merkitysyhteyksien sisällönanalyysiin tulkintaan. kartoitettiin, kuinka usein, missä kontekstissa minkälaisissa merkityksissä lapsen fyysiseen hyvinvointiin liitetyt termit (digitaalinen, fyysinen aktiivisuus, inaktiivisuus, istuminen, keho, koordinaatio, liikkuminen, liikunta, liikuntakasvatus, luonto, media, motoriikka, paikallaanolo, passiivisuus, ulkoilu, urheilu) esiintyivät opetussuunnitelmissa. Lisäksi tutkimuksessa selvitettiin, opetussuunnitelmat vastasivat tavoitteisiin, kasvattaa liikuntaan liikunnan avulla. Useimmin opetussuunnitelmissa mainittiin asiasanat: liikkuminen (39 krt), liikunta (28 media (21 krt). Sisällönanalyysin mukaan merkitysyhteydet voitiin kategorisoida neljään luokkaan: terveys hyvinvointi, kehitys, oppiminen yhteistyö. tunnistettiin leikin kulttuurin merkitysyhteydet. Tutkimus osoittaa, että molemmat keskeisiin tavoitteisiin. Published: March 1, 2024

Abstract Background Preschools may provide opportunities for children to engage in physical activity (PA), benefit their health, although little is known when concerning low‐income preschoolers. This study aimed (1) describe time spent PA among during preschool hours and (2) analyse how many meet the recommendations hours. Methods A total of 204 preschoolers (4.51 ± 0.79 years) from João Pessoa/Brazil provided valid accelerometer (Actigraph, WGT3‐X) data period. Children were grouped quartiles counts per minute, according sex age. The General Linear Model Univariate was used examine differences intensities between (TPA) moderate‐to‐vigorous (MVPA) by quartiles, An hour‐by‐hour description children's presented. Results TPA ranged 68.33% 113.89% recommended 28.34% 81.68% MVPA recommendations. Among 5‐year‐old children, those highest quartile met All more active outdoors than indoors. For less actives, corresponded 30% daily MVPA. Conclusion current results reinforce importance settings promoting preschoolers' particularly important useful information tailoring preschool‐based interventions focused on who need it most. Strategies increase should be prioritized free‐play time.
