Background Food and alcohol disturbance (FAD) represents a phenomenon characterized by range of dysfunctional eating behaviors individuals engage in when they plan to drink order compensate for alcohol-related calories. The aim the present study was investigate relationship between FAD coping styles among young adults.Methods sample composed 379 adults (274 females 105 males) with ages ranging from 18 30 years who completed survey online self-report measures assessing FAD,alcohol misuse, compensatory styles.Results positively correlated fasting, use laxatives avoidance strategies negatively turning religion. Results hierarchical regression analysis indicated that misuse predicted FAD, while religion negative predictor.Conclusion Our highlighted focused on avoiding distress arising stressful situations may be risk factor engaging FAD; conversely, times difficult life circumstances seem protect against FAD.

This study aimed to investigate Theory of Mind (ToM) and emotional awareness in drunkorexia, an emerging behavior characterized by calorie restriction when drinking alcohol is planned. A sample 246 adolescents (148 females, 98 males; range 17–20) completed self-reported measures assessing ToM lack awareness. Drunkorexia was negatively correlated with abilities, reading neutral emotions, positively were also found predict drunkorexia. Findings highlighted that who engage drunkorexia may have difficulties others' mental states being aware their emotions.
