It has been a challenging task to clearly elucidate various structural features and how their interactions affect the photocatalytic hydrogen production performance. In this work, factors, including crystallinity, specific surface area associated with morphology, energy band gap levels, charge, hydrophilicity, were employed investigate structure–property–activity correlations of β-ketoenamine-linked covalent organic framework (TpPa-1-COF) for H2 production, which could influence light harvesting, charge separation transfer, catalytic active sites. By using different methods prepare TpPa-1-COFs, we can regulate these influencing factors relationship activity. is found that TpPa-1-COF prepared by molecular organization method (labeled as TpPa-1 (MO)) exhibits highest evolution activity compared samples solvothermal acetic acid (HOAc) catalyst (TpPa-1 (ST-HOAc)) KOH solution (ST-KOH)), optimal largest BET-specific area, best hydrophilicity (MO). Moreover, our findings suggest enhanced total efficiency (ηtotal) (MO) may be mainly attributed efficient migration photogenerated charges (η2) vibrant sites (η3). Overall, work provides some deep insights into relation photocatalysts, offers valuable inspiration guidance thoughtful design COF-based photocatalysts evolution.
