Photodetectors, as essential devices for photoelectric conversion, are critical to advancing military, industrial, and civil technologies. In the post‐Moore era, demand extreme miniaturization multifunctionality has driven intense research into low‐dimensional materials. Two‐dimensional MXenes have attracted considerable attention due their exceptional conductivity, controllable surface functional groups, tunable bandgap associated with terminals. However, lack of systematic analysis on how enhance photodetector performance, modification mechanisms, multifunctional applications modified constrains progress in this field. Herein, review focuses dual roles performance modifiers modifiable materials photodetectors. It systematically examines preparation strategies MXenes. Emphasis is placed potential conductive electrodes, carrier transport layers, heterojunctions photosensitive layers optimize device performance.
