Urban color is a crucial visual component of urban aesthetics, directly reflecting national traditional aesthetic consciousness and historical culture, holding significant value research relevance. As key factor in studies, preference significantly impacts human behavior plays vital role planning development. However, comprehensive systematic understanding preferences remains underexplored. This study examines 379 relevant studies using bibliometric review methods literature visualization tools, classifying, synthesizing them according to hotspots fields. Four primary categories influencing were identified: personal attributes, socio-cultural influences, environmental space, dynamic factors. The analysis also highlights the psychological mechanisms underlying preference, including its effects on emotional regulation, cognitive processing, social identity. findings contribute field by offering data-driven framework for proposing practical applications planning. emphasizes importance promoting well-being sustainable development, with implications future interdisciplinary research.
