Microplastic pollution has emerged as a significant environmental challenge globally, posing threats to biodiversity, marine life, and human health. Studies indicate that organisms, from plankton larger fish species, ultimately humans are ingesting microplastics, leading physiological harm such inflammation, digestive blockages, tissue injury, hormonal imbalance, reproductive failure biomagnification through the food chain. Therefore, there arises an urgent need demand for implementing effective sustainable remediation solutions. Though, various mitigation technologies developed, less information is available on advantages disadvantages of technological advancements. The present review highlights sources, types, transport microplastics along with analytical methods detect microplastic pollutions. global perspective pollutions respect Indian Marine scenario was highlighted. recent advanced solutions in preventing, reducing recycling these were also addressed. This further underscores comprehensive strategies monitor, manage mitigate pollution, including policy interventions, public awareness campaigns, waste management practices. Addressing this issue essential preserving health India’s ecosystems safeguarding livelihoods mankind.
