The vortex in a pump sump is negative problem for the unit, which can lead to decline of performance. Focusing on internal pressure characteristics floor-attached (FAV) and its influence FAV was analyzed adopting previously verified numerical simulation method experiment. results show that core gradually decreases with time, drops at development stage, then reaches lowest during continuance stage. When tube around vaporization it cause local cavitation impeller inlet. evolution accompanied by change gradient discussed detail. This research provides theoretical guidance better understanding optimal design pump.
