Abstract The structure of the turbulent vortex in a two‐layer impinging stream reactor was studied by large eddy simulation. distributions intensity, kinetic energy, and shear stress at different Reynolds numbers Re , nozzle spacings L layer are discussed. relationship between mixing effect flow field is revealed. effects longitudinal swirls characteristics analyzed. Finally, synergy theory used for evaluation. With increasing intensity average increase. spacing affect controlling change field. When / D = 3, where diameter, energy loss smallest best. research results provide theoretical reference structural optimization reactor.
