Abstract The unique properties of two-dimensional (2D) materials have piqued the interest technical community. Titanium carbide (MXene) is a member rapidly expanding family 2D with exceptional physiochemical characteristics and wide range uses in environmental field. MXene has long been topic applications, including wastewater treatment, electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding, photocatalysis, hydrogen evolution reactions (HER) due to its high conductivity, varied band gap, hydrophilic nature, structural stability. This study covers important developments discusses how design, synthetic methods, stability changed over time. In this review paper, we discussed strategy synthesizing conventional, affordable heterojunctions Schottky junctions, as well development, mechanisms, trends deterioration organic contaminants, HER, EMI Shielding. We also explore obstacles restrictions that prevent scientific community from producing practical regulated structures for applications analyzing present usage. hazardous-environmental aspects MXene-based problems future possibilities these are examined emphasized. paper focused on such heavy metal detection removal, generation using MXenes. issues related wastewater, interference, clean energy production very persistent environment, better material required address challenges. Thus, kind could be alternative issues, hence, becomes important, which can pave way development issues. Graphical abstract

Addressing the critical issue of water pollution, this review article emphasizes need to remove hazardous dyes and phenolic compounds from wastewater. These pollutants pose severe risks due their toxic, mutagenic, carcinogenic properties. The study explores various techniques for remediation organic contaminants wastewater, including an enzymatic approach. A significant challenge in wastewater treatment is loss enzyme activity difficulty recovery post-treatment. To mitigate these issues, examines strategy immobilizing enzymes on newly developed nanostructured materials like graphene, carbon nanotubes (CNTs), metal–organic frameworks (MOFs). offer high surface areas, excellent porosity, ample anchoring sites effective immobilization. evaluates recent research immobilization supports applications biocatalytic nanoparticles. It also analyzes impact operational factors (e.g., time, pH, temperature) dye compound removal using enzymes. Despite promising outcomes, acknowledges challenges large-scale implementation offers recommendations future tackle obstacles. This concludes by suggesting that emerging could present a sustainable, environmentally friendly solution escalating pollution crisis.

This study, for the first time, reported utilization of ZIF-60 adsorptive removal organic pollutant from contaminated water. Characterization techniques were used to confirm synthesis adsorbent which was then study uptake crystal violet (CV) aqueous system. A remarkably high experimental (in excess 7000 mg/g) CV onto noted due careful selection process parameters while conducting batch adsorption studies. Response surface methodology technique utilized as tool response optimization and studying effect varying parameters. Temperature had most significant influence on followed by concentration, dose pH. Adsorption kinetics isotherm investigations conducted based optimized conditions, obtained good data fitting with more than one model suggests an intricate process. On other hand, thermodynamic studies revealed a highly endothermic spontaneous The post analysis π-π stacking interaction dominant force driving ZIF-60. Additionally, several machine learning models that distinct algorithms prediction An ensemble combination created using voting technique; this proved be accurate in predicting suggested its superior value evaluation metrics.
