The use of biochar for soil improvement and emission reduction has been widely recognized its excellent performance. However, the choice feedstock pyrolysis temperature production significantly affects surface parameters interactions with substances. In this study, we retrieved 465 peer-reviewed papers on application in reducing greenhouse gas emissions nutrient losses analyzed changes physicochemical from different pyrolytic temperatures. Molecular simulation computing technology was also used to explore impacts these interaction between statistical results indicated that derived wood-based exhibits superior physical characteristics, such as increased porosity specific area. Conversely, straw-based found contain element content, O, N, H, straw produced at low temperatures contains a significant number functional groups enhance charge transfer potential adsorption stability by increasing density, distribution bonding orbitals. it should be noted enhancement may activate certain recalcitrant C compounds promote decomposition. Taken together, have implications practitioners when selecting suitable based agricultural needs their understanding mechanism

Abstract The Ukraine conflict has put critical pressure on gas supplies and increased the price of fertilisers. As a consequence, biogas gained remarkable attention as local source both for energy biofertiliser agriculture. Moreover, climate change-related damage incentivises all sectors to decarbonise integrate sustainable practices. For instance, anaerobic digestion allows decarbonisation optimal waste management. Incorporating system in each country would limit global warming 2 °C. If suitable policies mechanisms are implemented, industry could reduce greenhouse emissions by 3.29–4.36 gigatonnes carbon dioxide equivalent, which represent about 10–13% emissions. Here, we review role sector capturing methane mitigating associated with outputs. Since impurities can cause severe practical difficulties storing grid delivering systems, present upgrading technologies that remove or consume raw biogas, achieve minimum 95% content. We discuss hydrogen-assisted biological sequestration converting biomethane via utilising hydrogen generated primarily through other renewable sources such water electrolysis photovoltaic solar facilities wind turbines. This conceptual shift 'power gas' excess grids. By produced during into additional biomethane, potential meet 53% demand fossil natural gas. also evaluate digestate from systems producing biochar, be used directly indirectly biomethanation enhancement, upgrading, cleaning material.

Biochar is a carbon-rich product obtained from the thermochemical conversion of biomass. Utilizing biochar essential for enhancing economic viability and maintaining ecology effectively. This work reviews techniques producing various lignocellulosic biomass sources. Pyrolysis technology converting into has emerged as frontier research domain pollutants removal. The effects feedstock parameters, production techniques, reaction conditions (temperature, heating rate, etc.), activation, functional group modification are compared on biochar's physical chemical properties. review also focused environmental applications in several domains, such agriculture wastewater treatment. Considering extensive availability feedstock, excellent physical/chemical surface properties, inexpensive cost, remarkable potential removing water efficiently. Studying evolution properties by in-situ or post-modification great significance improving utilization value valuable resource, yet its application necessitates additional structure, well development to modify those factors.
