In order to treat phosphorus-containing wastewater and realize the resource utilization of wetland plant residues, biochar was prepared by pyrolysis canna aquatic waste at 700 °C, adsorption characteristics phosphorus MgO-modified (MBC) were explored. The main results are as follows: capacity MBC eight times that unmodified (BC), up 244 mg/g. isothermal data consistent with Langmuir equation, which indicates monolayer adsorption. functional groups changed little before after modification, but a new diffraction peak appeared modification. Compared standard card, it suggested there MgO crystals higher purity. SEM images showed BC had smooth surface, an obvious pore structure, thin wall, while rough surface layered can provide more sites for phosphate addition, XPS analysis Mg3(PO4)2 on mechanism is important substance adsorb phosphorus, electrostatic complex precipitation play key roles. test verify removal actual MBC, found rates 2.06 mg/L 199.8 high 93.4–93.9% 99.2–99.3%, respectively. be used efficient adsorbent removal.
