Coal gangue is a typical industrial waste, which will bring environmental challenges and resource depletion when piled up in large quantities, heavy metal pollution prominent problem. In this study, Ca3(PO4)2 calcium superphosphate fertilizer (CSF) were utilized to passivate coal at different levels, its passivation mechanism was discussed. The results show that both CSF can effectively reduce moderate or high levels of slight clean level. effect slightly better than Ca3(PO4)2. Through characterization before after simulation with Visual MINTEQ PHREEQC software, it found provide PO32-, while releases HPO3 –, ionized generate more finally forms insoluble soluble phosphate metals. Leaching experiments the treated samples contain obviously stable components, leaching risk lower untreated gangue. summary, method proves effectiveness fixing metals provides an effective for harmless treatment

Biogeochemical activity of trace elements in the environment significantly relies on their chemical speciation. Solution pH influences speciation and biogeochemical soil-plant continuum. The current study was conducted to simulate influence solution fractions 11 (arsenic, lead, zinc, copper, chromium, cadmium, mercury, nickel, strontium, antimony, selenium) using Visual Minteq, a equilibrium model used for calculation metal speciation, sorption etc. Results delineated that pH-mediated variations differed with type. results revealed dominance element species at acidic (1–6), neutral (7.0), alkaline (8–14) pH. Divalent (zinc, lead) were dominant However, mercury has narrow range (1–3), while strontium wider (1–13). Nitrate, sulfate, phosphate also occurred <8. >8, existed hydroxide (OH) fractions. In case arsenic (arsenite As3+ arsenate As5+), selenium (selenite Se4+ selenate Se6+), antimony (antimonite Sb3+ antimonate Sb5+), get oxidized increasing Multivariate analysis various metals as function Moreover, Principal Component Analysis verified linear relation affects phytoavailable fraction growth culture associated health hazards through transfer.

There are scarce data regarding the effects of soil amendments on biophysicochemical responses plants at early stages growth/germination. This study critically compares ethylene-diamine-tetra-acetic-acid (EDTA) and calcium (Ca) germinating pea seedlings under varied arsenic levels (As, 25, 125, 250 µM). Arsenic alone enhanced hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) level in roots (176%) shoot (89%), which significantly reduced seed germination percentage, pigment contents, growth parameters. Presence EDTA Ca culture minimized toxic As seedlings, being more pertinent than Ca. Both decreased H2O2 tissues (16% 13% by EDTA, 7% shoot), maintained germination, parameters peas close to those control treatment. The all As-treatments were pronounced shoot. presence organic inorganic can play a useful role alleviating toxicity growth. scarcity demands comparing plant different (germinating vs mature) future studies.
