Abstract Urban expansion is an unavoidable phenomenon in the realm of economic and social progress; nonetheless, it brings forth significant environmental repercussions, notably diminishment green spaces escalation fine particulate matter concentrations atmosphere. The findings this research indicate that proportion developed land has surged from 13.92% 1995 to 32.27% 2025, while forest coverage markedly declined, particularly between 2015 witnessing a loss 6,297.55 ha. This shift not only constricts areas but also exacerbates levels matter, especially regions characterized by high urban density substantial industrial operations. Ant Colony Optimization-Generative Adversarial Network (ACO-GAN) model exhibited exceptional efficacy, achieving RMSE values 7.38 9.76 for PM2.5 PM10, respectively, alongside R² coefficient surpassing 0.82. Variables such as construction (CONST DEN), surface temperature (LST), Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Soil-Adjusted (SAVI) have been recognized most pivotal determinants affecting concentrations. Additionally, reveal with elevated density, locales like Noi Bai Dong Anh, demonstrate alarmingly whereas abundant vegetation, Ba Vi Mountain, exhibit considerably lower highlights essential function alleviating air pollution safeguarding living environment. These insights elucidate adverse effects urbanization on quality establish scientific foundation advocating sustainable management planning strategies.
