Abstract We evaluated the effects of antihypertensives, lipid-lowering agents, and antiplatelet medications on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) risk in patients with fatty liver disease (FLD) type 2 diabetes (T2D). Data 212,443 FLD T2D, obtained from Korea Health Insurance Review Assessment Service, were analyzed. Cohort admission day was set as date first oral hypoglycemic agents (OHAs) prescription. Multivariate Cox regression analysis revealed that old age, male sex, chronic viral hepatitis, alcoholic disease, cirrhosis, insulin use, calcium channel blockers (CCBs) significantly correlated a higher HCC risk, whereas statin, ezetimibe, fibrate use lower development. Propensity score matching (PSM) performed according to usage fibrates, CCB. Patients who used statins (hazard ratio (HR)=0.58, 95% confidence interval (CI)=0.42-0.80, P=0.001) fibrates (HR=0.46, CI=0.22-0.93, P=0.031) showed even after PSM. CCB linked an elevated (HR=1.35, CI=1.05-1.72, P=0.019). Statins may offer protective against development CCBs increase risk. Thus, tailored medication strategies are required for management conditions.

Abstract Cancer, a complex and multifactorial disease, presents significant challenge to global health. Despite advances in surgical, radiotherapeutic immunological approaches, which have improved cancer treatment outcomes, drug therapy continues serve as key therapeutic strategy. However, the clinical efficacy of is often constrained by resistance severe toxic side effects, thus there remains critical need develop novel therapeutics. One promising strategy that has received widespread attention recent years repurposing: identification new applications for existing, clinically approved drugs. Drug repurposing possesses several inherent advantages context since repurposed drugs are typically cost-effective, proven be safe, can significantly expedite development process due their already established safety profiles. In light this, present review offers comprehensive overview various methods employed repurposing, specifically focusing on treat cancer. We describe antitumor properties candidate drugs, discuss detail how they target both hallmarks tumor cells surrounding microenvironment. addition, we examine innovative integrating with nanotechnology enhance topical delivery. also emphasize role play when used part combination regimen. To conclude, outline challenges associated consider future prospects these transitioning into application.

Both women and men are now confronted with the grave threat of cancers caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). It is estimated that 80% may encounter HPV over their lives. In preponderance cases involving anal, head neck, oral, oropharyngeal, penile, vaginal, vulvar, cervical malignancies, high-risk (HR-HPV) causative agent. 2019, believed to have been cause 620,000 new cancer in 70,000 worldwide. The bulk 530,000 (~ 270,000 fatalities) infection (86% cases, 88% deaths) happen poor nations each year. Lipid metabolism crucial development related HPV. One most noticeable metabolic abnormalities lipid reprogramming, which cells dysregulate obtain sufficient energy, building blocks for cell membranes, signaling molecules necessary invasion, metastasis, proliferation, survival. Moreover, proteins' stimulation production infected will probably a significant effect on oncogenesis. addition, lipids critical producing cellular epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) process, therapy resistance HPV-related (HRCs). Therefore, essential HRC also be an important target approaches associated treatments during or development. This review study looked at role lipid-lowering drugs cancers.

Autophagy is an intrinsic breakdown system that recycles organelles and macromolecules, which influences metabolic pathways, differentiation, thereby cell survival. Oral health essential component of integrated well-being, it critical for developing therapeutic interventions to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying maintenance oral homeostasis. However, because complex dynamic relationship between autophagy health, associated treatment modalities have not yet been well elucidated. Determining how affects at level may enhance understanding prevention targeted diseases. At level, hard soft tissues develop interactions epithelial mesenchymal cells. Aging contributes progression various disorders including periodontitis, cancer, periapical lesions during aging. levels decrease with age, thus indicating a possible association In this review, we critically review aspects their significance in context diseases lesions, periodontal conditions, candidiasis.
