The capture and conversion of industrial off-gases into valuable biomass using microalgae represents a promising strategy for CO2 mitigation sustainable production biofuels biochemicals. In this study, fifteen (15) microalgal strains were screened evaluated their growth performance the accumulation macromolecules like polysaccharides lipids under CO2-enriched conditions, simulating off-gas composition an operational 2G biorefinery producing bioethanol from wastes. It was found that Stichococcus sp. exhibited highest (33% w/w) in biomass, while Chlorella vulgaris demonstrated superior content (34% w/w). Both (coded as wild-AUTH) displayed robust growth, each achieving concentrations 1.5 g/L Dry Cell Weight (DCW), maintaining tolerance to gas feedstock. protein contents further support potential integration 3G framework, where advanced could be one multiple valorization pathways. These findings underline feasibility retrofitting solution other bioenergy plants, enhancing enabling biofuel production. top-performing species provide basis optimizing bioprocess parameters scaling up cultivation photobioreactors (PBRs) improve productivity commercial applicability.

Concerns about sustainable energy sources arise due to the non-renewable nature of petroleum. Escalating demand for fossil fuels and price inflation negatively impact security economy a country. The generation usage biofuel could be suggested as alternative fuels. Several studies have investigated potential using edible crops production. However, algae suitable feedstock is currently being promoted its ability withstand adverse environmental conditions, capacity generate more oil per area, mitigate crises climate change with no detrimental on environment food supply. Furthermore, biorefinery approach in algae-based production controls algal cultivation. Hence, this article critically reviews different cultivation systems critical parameters including harvesting methods, intended biofuels relevant processing techniques, other applications valorized biomass, merits demerits, limitations challenges
