Abstract Quantum dots (QDs), with the unique merits of narrow and tunable photoluminescence (PL) wavelength, high PL quantum yield, have gained significant interest in fields such as display, solar energy conversion, bioimaging, encrypted communication. On other hand, photochromic molecular switches (PMS) can undergo reversible interconversion between (at least) two distinct states at scale upon light irradiation. When combining QDs PMS, resulting hybrid systems exhibit synergistic functionalities responsiveness, enabling precise modulation over intensity/color, energy/electron transfer, motion temporal spatial resolution a non‐invasive manner. This perspective explores recent advancements combination method, light‐responsive mechanism, functions QD‐PMS hybrids. The applications hybrids are also highlighted materials information processing, sensing, optoelectrical devices, discuss future challenges, opportunities, directions for enhancing performance exploring next‐generation smart optoelectronic devices.
