Abstract In this article, we explore questions about the culture of trustworthy artificial intelligence (AI) through lens ecosystems. We draw on European Commission’s Guidelines for Trustworthy AI and its philosophical underpinnings. Based latter, trustworthiness an ecosystem can be conceived as being grounded by both so-called rational-choice motivation-attributing accounts—i.e., trusting is rational because solution providers deliver expected services reliably, while trust also involves resigning control attributing one’s motivation, hence, goals, onto another entity. Our research question is: What aspects contribute to a responsible that promote justifiable in healthcare environment? argue especially within devising governance support medical ecosystem, considering account provides fruitful pointers. There is an ongoing debate about the ethics of research on lifespan extension: roughly, using medical technologies to extend biological human lives beyond current "natural" limit 120 years. At same time, there exploding interest in use artificial intelligence (AI) create "digital twins" persons, for example by fine-tuning large language models data specific particular individuals. In this paper, we consider whether digital twins (or doppelgängers, as refer them) could be a path toward kind life extension-or more precisely, person extension-that does not rely continuity. We discuss relevant accounts consciousness and personal identity argue that doppelgängers may at least help us achieve some aims or ostensible goods person-span extension, even if they count literal extensions our personhood dominant philosophical accounts. also relational how able sense, secure associated with relationships. conclude suggesting program investigate such issues debates extending lifespan.

Abstract Recent developments in AI and robotics enable people to create personalised digital duplicates – these are artificial, at least partial, recreations or simulations of real people. The advent such enables overcome their individual scarcity. But this comes a cost. There is common view among ethicists value theorists suggesting that scarcity contributes heightens the life parts life. In paper, we address topic. We make five main points. First, there plausible prima facie case for threat: may undermine an human by making us less scarce. Second, notwithstanding threat, role disputable always exists tension with contrasting tragedy limits our value. Third, two distinct forms instrumental intrinsic they contribute different ways. Fourth, duplication technology scarcity, some extent, but axiological consequences highly variable. Fifth, does not affect actually heighten it.

Abstract Danaher and Nyholm (2024a) have recently proposed that digital duplicates—such as fine-tuned, “personalized” large language models closely mimic a particular individual—might reduce individual’s scarcity thus increase the amount of instrumental value they can bring to world. In this commentary, we introduce notion relational explore how duplicates would affect interpersonal relationships.

Abstract The new avatars and bots modeled after humans, the large language models (LLMs) with a “persona,” seemingly autonomously acting robots raise question of whether AI technologies can also possess personhood or at least be part our personhood. Do we extend through living death in digital realm? This article explores application moral concept to technologies. It presents twofold thesis: first, it illustrates, various examples, how is being disrupted context Second, discusses potential evolution argues for abandoning ethics, based on reasons such as its vagueness, harmful discriminatory character, disconnection from society. Finally, outlines future perspectives approaches moving forward, emphasizing need conceptual justice concepts.
