Bacillus velezensis strain GB03 is a Gram-positive rhizosphere bacterium known for its ability to promote plant growth and immunity. This review provides comprehensive overview of the research on from initial discovery in Australian wheat fields 1971 current applications. Recognized as model growth-promoting rhizobacterium (PGPR), has exhibited outstanding performance enhancing protection many crop plants including cucumber, pepper, wheat, barley, soybean, cotton. Notably, been reported elicit immune response, referred induced systemic resistance (ISR), against above-ground pathogens insect pests. Moreover, pivotal finding was first-ever identification bacterial volatile compounds, which are boost activate ISR. Research conducted over past five decades clearly demonstrated potential an eco-friendly substitute conventional pesticides fertilizers. Validating safety, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency endorsed commercial use Kodiak ® 1998. Subsequently, other such BioYield™, were released biological control agent soil-borne biofertilizer, utilizing durable spore formulation. More recently, utilized keystone modulator engineering microbiome eliciting microbe-induced volatiles. These extensive studies underscore significant role sustainable agriculture, positioning it safe environmentally-friendly solution protection.

Abstract Mitigating the effects of climate stress on crops is important for global food security. The microbiome associated with plant roots, rhizobiome, can harbor beneficial microbes that alleviate stress, but factors influencing their recruitment are unclear. We conducted a greenhouse experiment using field soil legacy growing switchgrass and common bean to investigate impact short-term drought severity active bacterial rhizobiome members. applied 16S rRNA gene sequencing both metabolite profiling switchgrass. included planted unplanted conditions distinguish environment- versus plant-mediated drivers. Differences in community structure were observed between watered treatments within crops. Despite crop-specific communities, dynamics similar across two presence more strongly explained variation (17%) than (3%), small effect mediation during only rhizobiome. was stable despite changes rhizosphere profiles treatments. conclude responses crop-specific, possible decoupling exudation from responses.

Plants are living entities that provide food, oxygen, and habitat for other organisms in the environment. Plants, like all things, require adequate nutrition, water, sunlight to develop thrive. continually interacting with their surroundings, including microbes live soil, roots, leaves. These interactions may have a significant impact on plant health growth, as well surrounding ecosystem. Microbes specialized roles environment, managing toxicity, suppressing illness, promoting development cycling, utilizing nutrients. The between plants can be pathogenic, symbiotic, associative different impacts health. Keeping up research better understand dynamics of rhizosphere communities would sustainable farming approaches much-needed momentum. Plant microbe alter immunity, physiological functions, soil quality, ultimately leading agriculture. This chapter focuses plant-microbe communications terms nutrient uptake, stress tolerance, crop production.
