Discussion of the effectiveness distance learning as a means delivering higher education programs at classical universities has been ongoing for past decade. Introduction In recent years, the integration of technology into medical education has profoundly altered conventional learning environments. The extensive use internet, digital resources, and online platforms facilitated rapid access to substantial information for students, thus augmenting their capacity engage with course content in more dynamic engaging ways. Nonetheless, along these benefits, challenges have arisen, particularly students' management regulation internet academic purposes. This study aimed analyze factors affecting study-related purposes identify strengths regulating its usage. Methods A cross-sectional was undertaken among 144 first-year MBBS students at a government college Lucknow, India. specifically included participants from first year program, aged between 18 25 years. Students who did not provide explicit consent participate or were absent on designated day data collection excluded. Data gathered using predesigned, semi-structured questionnaire addressing demographics, usage patterns, preferences, perceptions. Statistical analysis conducted SPSS version 24.0. Results While 108 (75%) preferred textbooks, 99 (68.8%) used activities. Google Chrome (N=79, 79.8%) search engine, Wikipedia (N=63, 63.6%) most common database. Mobile (N=59, 60%) Android devices (N=86, 86.9%) predominant. Most (N=76, 76.8%) perceived reliability as moderate (based subjective perceptions), only 33 (33.3%) fully satisfied services. Slow speed perceptions) primary challenge reported by 63 (63.6%) students. ABSTRACT A conducive online education ecosystem provides available, accessible, and affordable resources, promoting socialisation democratising through innovative platforms, flexible scheduling, collaborative tools, enabling diverse populations to access knowledge conveniently. However, India canvasses a significant issue of the digital divide, with more than 75% population lacking internet accessibility. This paper investigates whether is facilitating teaching‐learning process identifies any gaps that require attention.
