Bisphenol A (BPA) is the most well-known compound from bisphenol family. As BPA has recently come under pressure, it being replaced by compounds very similar in structure, but data on occurrence of these analogues food and human matrices are limited. The main objective this work was to investigate exposure associated health effects. We performed a literature review available research made humans, vivo vitro tests. findings support idea that may have an impact health, especially terms obesity other adverse effects children.

Bisphenol A (BPA) and its alternatives are suspected endocrine disruptors. However, prenatal exposure transplacental transfer of bisphenols (BPs is still limited. Therefore, BPA six in maternal serum (MS), urine (MU), cord (CS), amniotic fluid (AF) samples collected from 106 maternal-fetal pairs an e-waste dismantling site Southern China were determined. AF (BPAF) bisphenol S (BPS) the dominant observed MS CS, geometric mean (GM) concentration BPAF (0.013 ng/mL MS, 0.097 CS) BPS (0.01 0.03 CS was lower than that (0.5 1.2 CS). The ratios concentrations between MU (MU:MS ratio) over three times higher those (AF:CS ratio), thereby suggesting low biotransformation/metabolism fetuses. placental rates BPs (i.e., CS:MS compound-specific (BPAF 3.26, 1.94, 1.11). Bisphenols, particularly bisphenol A (BPA), are the primary monomers used as additives in manufacturing of many consumer products. The exposure to these compounds is related endocrine-disrupting and reproductive effects, among others. For this reason, development analytical methods for their determination biological matrixes needed monitor population compounds. Their quantification at ovarian level (i.e., follicular fluid) interesting assessment content draw conclusions about infertility problems. However, background does not meet all requirements by focusing mainly on BPA.

Numerous studies have indicated estrogenic disruption effects of bisphenol A (BPA) analogues. Previous mechanistic were mainly focused on their genomic activities nuclear estrogen receptor pathway. However, nongenomic through G protein-coupled (GPER) pathway remain poorly understood. Here, using a SKBR3 cell-based fluorescence competitive binding assay, we found six BPA analogues bound to GPER directly, with AF (BPAF) and B (BPB) displaying much higher (∼9-fold) affinity than BPA. Molecular docking also demonstrated the these GPER. By measuring calcium mobilization cAMP production in cells, lead activation subsequent signaling pathways. Consistent results, BPAF BPB presented agonistic activity lowest effective concentration (LOEC) 10 nM. Moreover, based results Boyden chamber wound-healing assays, displayed promoting mediated cell migration LOEC 100 Overall, two could exert via at nanomolar concentrations.

This study reports the occurrence of eight bisphenols (BPs): bisphenol AF (BPAF), AP (BPAP), B (BPB), C (BPC), E (BPE), F (BPF), S (BPS) and Z (BPZ) in wastewaters (WWs). Sample preparation involved pre-concentration with SPE cartridges (Oasis HLB), followed by derivatization using N-(tert-butyldimethylsilyl)-N-methyltrifluoroacetamide 1% tert-butyldimethylchlorosilane. Chemical analysis was based on gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. A validated method limits detection (LODs) at ng L− 1 range applied to WWs collected five Slovene wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) WW inflows from industrial, commercial residential sources entering sewerage systems two catchments (Domžale-Kamnik (DK) Ljubljana (LJ)). The presence all BPs confirmed three DK LJ catchments. High cumulative concentrations were determined food processing facilities (LJ: 3030 DK: 599 1). high frequency observed textile cleaning companies (6 for 8 DK). WWTPs revealed that only BPF (36.7 1) BPS (40.6 > LODs influents, whereas other detected also effluents. BPZ found highest concentration (403 WWTP-DK). this WWTP contained amount BPE (238 Although removal could not be directly compared between WWTPs, exception BPAP BPB case smaller (6.39%–43.2%) general highly removed (≥ 96.2%). Finally, levels BPC LOD are reported first time (WWTP catchment: 1.01 1–11.8 1; inflow plant up 2560
