Abstract Hypochlorous acid and its hypochlorite are important reactive oxygen species in the body, involved various physiological processes related to immunity; their rapid detection is of great significance. Here, we synthesized a fluorescent probe (TPAS) by condensation 4‐(diphenylamino)benzaldehyde, carbohydrazide, salicylaldehyde, which can be used for ClO − water sensing acidic gas solid state. The showed strong selective recognition acetonitrile good tolerance interference ions. There were linear responses between intensity absorbance fluorescence amount . TPAS paper strips emit red when exposed volatile vapours. After being treated with NH 3 , restored yellow. response process gases was characterized using nuclear magnetic resonance, electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry, transmission electron microscopy, density functional theory calculations. Furthermore, it utilized analyzing commercially available bleaching products; results basically compatible labelled values. In addition, biocompatible applied imaging zebrafish.
