Owing to the rapid development of nuclear industry, uranium has become a global environmental contaminant due its radiotoxicity and chemotoxicity, posing significant threats human health ecological safety. Although various instrumental chemical analytical methods have been developed for uranyl ion detection in aquatic environments, searching new sensors with high stability, sensitivity, selectivity remains challenge. In this study, luminescent Zr-based metal–organic framework (MOF), designated as Tb@UiO-66-(COOH)2, was successfully synthesized utilizing postsynthetic exchange (PSE) method along Tb3+ doping detection. Interestingly, presence UO22+ ions causes replacement guest (Tb3+) sensor via competitive host–guest interaction, leading luminescence quenching. The attenuation intensity Tb@UiO-66-(COOH)2 exhibits an excellent linear relationship concentrations within wide range 0–2.52 μM. Notably, demonstrates unprecedentedly sensitivity (Ksv = 2.16 × 105 M–1) extremely low limit (LOD) down 8.03 nM (1.91 ppb) deionized water. More importantly, can achieve efficient performance, even excesses competing ions. values Ksv were determined be 2.10 M–1 Xie'ao Lake water 3.05 seawater; LOD 8.26 (1.96 5.68 (1.35 seawater. To best our knowledge, is first instance introducing coordination strategy into MOF-based high-performance Hence, present work offers novel idea building functional MOFs aqueous solutions.
