Emerging contaminants (ECs), encompassing pharmaceuticals, personal care products, pesticides, and industrial chemicals, represent a growing threat to ecosystems human health due their persistence, bioaccumulation potential, often-unknown toxicological profiles. Addressing these challenges necessitates advanced analytical tools capable of detecting quantifying trace levels ECs in complex environmental matrices. This review highlights the pivotal role mass spectrometry (MS) monitoring ECs, emphasizing its high sensitivity, specificity, versatility across various techniques such as Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), Liquid (LC-MS), High-Resolution Mass (HR-MS). The application MS has facilitated real-time detection volatile organic compounds, comprehensive non-targeted screening unknown contaminants, accurate quantification diverse matrices including water, soil, air. Despite effectiveness, matrix interferences, lack standardized methodologies, limited spectral libraries persist. However, recent advancements, hybrid systems integration artificial intelligence (AI), are paving way for more efficient predictive modeling contaminant behavior. Continued innovation technologies collaborative efforts essential overcome existing ensure sustainable solutions mitigating risks associated with emerging contaminants.

ABSTRACT Oxytetracycline (OTC) residues in poultry meat products can develop antibiotic resistance humans who consume them. Therefore, sensitive analytical techniques are required to measure the quantities of OTC establish whether these commodities safe for consumption. The study used molecular imprinting technology create a sorbent measuring chicken broiler products. computational methods utilized early phases research choose functional monomers were validated using association constant (Ka) and Job plot. We synthesized molecularly polymers (MIPs) two different manufacturing processes, which we then examined. bond energy‐based investigation indicated that hydroxyethyl methacrylic acid (HEMA) was ideal monomer at an OTC‐to‐HEMA molar ratio 1:4. examined Ka HEMA various solvents. highest obtained by combining methanol chloroform. plot showed 1:4 best synthesizing imprinted polymer mixture created MIPs alternative techniques, bulk (MIP1) precipitation (MIP2), with set Physical testing FT‐IR, SEM, PSA, BET demonstrated successful synthesis spherical uniform agglomeration particles particle diameters MIP1 MIP2, respectively, 0.21 μm 0.19 μm. surface areas MIP2 186,416 264,486 m2/g, respectively. findings adsorption capacity show fits Langmuir model well, whereas Freundlich better. recovery rates spike‐chicken 81,42% ± 3,6% when applied 95,30% 2.2% used. results selectivity test also is more effective than it remove from has been spiked while taking another antibiotic. influences measurement spike meat.
