This study explores vocabulary assessment practices in Saudi Arabia's hybrid EFL ecosystem, leveraging platforms like Blackboard and Google Forms. The focus is on identifying prevalent test formats evaluating their alignment with modern pedagogical goals. To classify hybridized contexts recommend the integration of AI-enhanced adaptive testing to improve effectiveness learner outcomes. A mixed-methods approach was employed, including analysis 161 online samples semi-structured interviews designers. taxonomy developed tests into multiple-choice open-response paradigms, assessing cognitive demands contextual usage. Results highlighted predominance cloze tasks, emphasizing recognition over retrieval. Digital enabled administration, but adaptive, AI-driven assessments were notably absent. findings advocate for integrating AI technologies create personalized evaluations.
