To explore the impact of physical exercise on mobile phone addiction (MPA) among college students and underlying psychological mechanisms, a questionnaire survey method is utilized to conduct empirical analysis from multiple colleges in China. This study uses Physical Activity Rating Scale-3, Mobile Phone Addiction Tendencies Scale (MPATS), Self-Acceptance Questionnaire, Chinese Perceived Stress measure variables such as activity level, degree MPA, self-acceptance perceived stress students. The reveals mechanism reducing MPA. research results demonstrate significant negative correlation between MPA exercise. Exercise frequency has most remarkable influence withdrawal symptoms salience behaviors, with coefficients −0.35 −0.30, respectively. These findings show that regular engagement can substantially mitigate dependency phones. intensity duration also have effect coefficient −0.32. Furthermore, moderating variable plays an important protective role within nexus Students higher levels remission both ( β = −0.30) mood changes −0.28), model interpretability increasing 0.34 0.43. On contrary, stress, risk-regulating variable, positively correlated 0.35. Additionally, under conditions elevated exercise’s mitigating dependence attenuated.
