The oral bioavailability of therapeutic peptides is generally low. To increase peptide transport across the gastrointestinal barrier, permeation enhancers are often used. Despite their widespread use, mechanistic knowledge limited. address this, we here investigate interactions six commonly used with lipid membranes in simulated intestinal environments. Specifically, study sodium caprate, dodecyl maltoside, cholate, sulfate, melittin, and penetratin epithelial cell-like model membranes. mimic molecular composition real environment, experiments performed two drugs salmon calcitonin desB30 insulin fasted-state fluid. Besides providing a comparison membrane studied enhancers, our results demonstrate that as well intestinal-fluid components may substantially change activity enhancers. This highlights importance testing enhancement realistic physiological environments carefully choosing enhancer for each individual drug.

Caffeic acid (CA) is one of the most abundant natural compounds present in plants and has a broad spectrum beneficial pharmacological activities. However, some cases, synthetic derivation original molecules can expand their scope. This study focuses on synthesis caffeic phosphanium derivatives with ambition increasing biological Four salts (CAPs) were synthesized tested for cytotoxic, antibacterial, antifungal, amoebicidal activity vitro, aim identifying best area medicinal use.
