Forests,
as
a
critical
component
of
terrestrial
ecosystems,
have
long
been
recognized
for
their
vital
roles
water,
money,
grain,
and
carbon
repositories,
collectively
known
the
“Four
Repositories”
concept.
The
significance
forests
in
context
economic
ecological
development
has
become
increasingly
prominent.
As
novel
paradigm
new
driver
growth,
digital
economy
(DIG)
can
significantly
improve
management,
operation,
preservation
forests,
thus
offering
prospects
advancing
high-quality
forestry
(HQDF)
China.
This
study
constructs
indicator
systems
levels
HQDF
DIG
using
panel
data
from
30
provinces
China
over
period
2012
to
2021.
empirical
analysis
utilizes
fixed
effect
model
assess
influence
promoting
Moreover,
mediation
is
employed
examine
underlying
mechanisms.
There
are
four
main
results
follows.
First,
baseline
regression
show
that
directly
drive
Second,
mechanism
reveals
positively
influences
through
three
mediating
channels:
strengthening
environmental
regulation,
enhancing
public
awareness,
increasing
innovation
forestry.
Third,
heterogeneity
indicates
positive
impact
on
more
pronounced
northern
provinces,
economically
advanced
regions,
with
stronger
fiscal
support
Fourth,
further
significant
spatial
spillover
effects
findings
not
only
clarify
driving
mechanisms
HQDF,
but
also
provide
valuable
policy
insights
exploring
practical
pathways
modern
context.
