Abstract Over the last two decades, visual symptoms and retinal changes in Parkinson’s disease (PD) have emerged as important biomarkers. Color vision deficiency, which begins outer retina, has been increasingly investigated, but a focused review of these papers not recently conducted. Similarly, thinning retina measured using optical coherence tomography (OCT) holds potential screening marker for PD, particularly devices are already commonplace community hospital settings. Moreover, may be more specific inner also occur common neurodegenerative diseases like glaucoma Alzheimer’s disease. This summarizes contemporary evidence on measures, color thickness, can readily quantified non-invasive approaches thus examines their biomarkers screening, detection, progression PD.
