Abstract Ganoderma lucidum is a medicinal mushroom used in traditional Chinese medicine with putative tranquilizing effects. However, the component of G. that promotes sleep has not been clearly identified. Here, effect and mechanism acidic part alcohol extract mycelia (GLAA) on were studied mice. Administration 25, 50 100 mg/kg GLAA for 28 days promoted pentobarbital-treated mice by shortening latency prolonging sleeping time. administration increased levels sleep-promoting neurotransmitter 5-hydroxytryptamine Tph2, Iptr3 Gng13 transcripts sleep-regulating serotonergic synapse pathway hypothalamus during this process. Moreover, reduced lipopolysaccharide raised peptidoglycan serum. GLAA-enriched gut bacteria metabolites, including Bifidobacterium , animalis indole-3-carboxylic acid acetylphosphate negatively correlated positively time concentration. Both promotion altered faecal metabolites behaviours disappeared after microbiota depletion antibiotics. Our results showed through microbiota-dependent serotonin-associated

Abstract Circadian rhythms are present in almost all cells and play a crucial role regulating various biological processes. Maintaining stable circadian rhythm is essential for overall health. Disruption of this can alter the expression clock genes cancer-related genes, affect many metabolic pathways factors, thereby affecting function immune system contributing to occurrence progression tumors. This paper aims elucidate regulatory effects BMAL1, other on cells, reveal molecular mechanism rhythm’s involvement tumor its microenvironment regulation. A deeper understanding has potential provide new strategies treatment cancer immune-related diseases.

Abstract High-quality sleep is an important factor in sustaining health and improving well-being. Previous evidence has demonstrated the positive associations between increased physical activity reduced sedentary behaviour (SB) with quality. The substitutional relationships SB, light-intensity (LPA), moderate-to-vigorous (MVPA) need to be considered when examining how a particular may impact No studies, our knowledge, have explored these middle-aged adulthood. Using isotemporal substitution approach, this study examined of replacing time on quality measures sample adults Japan. Data from 683 aged 40–64 living Japan were used. average daily spent LPA, MVPA was objectively assessed by accelerometers. Two self-reported obtained using questionnaires, including rest Multivariable linear regression models used assess stratified gender. We found that each 60 min unit SB or LPA replaced favourably associated among women ( β = 0.16, 95% CI 0.07, 0.28, p < 0.001; 0.18, 0.32, 0.05, respectively). There no significant men across all three models. These findings indicate higher association women.

Episodic memory impairment is the core clinical feature of patients with typical Alzheimer's disease (AD) at an early stage. Since sleep plays a very important role in consolidation, relationship between and disorders AD worthy investigation. To investigate disturbances their correlations amnestic mild cognitive (aMCI). Forty-three AD, 43 aMCI, cognitively unimpaired controls (CUCs) were recruited subjected to assessment via Hopkins Verbal Learning Test-Revised objective evaluation polysomnography (PSG). The total time percentages nonrapid eye movement (NREM) stage 3 (N3) rapid (REM) lower, while NREM 2 (N2) greater aMCI groups than CUC group (all p < 0.01). Compared group, also presented longer latency higher 1 (N1) percentage, apnea-hypopnea index (AHI), periodic limb movements during (PLMSI), arousal (AI). Both learning scores delayed recall positively correlated N3 percentage negatively AHI PLMSI Recognition AI Our results suggest that disturbance disability patients. Abstract Sleep disorders are common among the general population and can generate health problems such as insomnia anxiety. In addition to standard drugs psychological interventions, there different complementary plant-based therapies used treat This review aimed find examine most recent research on use of herbal medicines for treating anxiety compiled from clinical trials, well assess safety efficacy these elucidate their possible mechanisms action. The process entailed a search PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane Library databases 2010 2020. terms included “sleep disorder”, “insomnia”, “sedative”, “hypnotic”, “anxiety”, “anxiolytic”, “clinical trial”, combined with “herbs” “medicinal plants”, in individual by both scientific names. updated review, which focuses mainly includes 23 medicinal plants combinations. Essential oils associations have also been reviewed. depends treatment duration, types study subjects, administration route, method. More trials an adequate, standardized design necessary, more preclinical studies continue studying As result our work, we conclude that 3 potential valerian, passionflower, ashwagandha, combination valerian hops passionflower giving best results tests.
