Abstract Purpose SARS-CoV-2, the responsible virus for covid-19 pandemic, has demonstrated neurotropic properties indicated by cases presenting with auditory and vestibular system insults. The expression of ACE-2 receptors in placenta detection IgM antibodies against fetuses pregnant women suffering from render vertical transmission infection to fetus possible. Thus, our study aims examine whether, similar other viruses like CMV, SARS-CoV-2 is congenital hearing loss. Methods This a retrospective regional pediatric hospital. medical records newborns (n = 111) born mothers positive COVID-19 during pregnancy who underwent screening tests Transient Evoked Otoacoustic Emissions (TEOAE) Automatic Auditory Brainstem Response (AABR) February 2020 June 2022 were reviewed. Neonates additional aggravating factors loss excluded study. Results For period, nine found first trimester, twenty second eighty-three third trimester. TEOAEs test AABR scored PASS bilaterally all neonates tested. Conclusions Infection was not risk factor loss, studies.
