Abstract Monkeypox is causing great concern due to its infectious power and the possibility that it could become a new pandemic. The objective of this study was determine factors associated with anxiety produced by being infected monkeypox in Peru. An analytical cross-sectional conducted; previously validated survey used measure about possible infection association other sociodemographic variables. Of 779 respondents, 5% mentioned they were concerned almost all time monkeypox. Women, those who always worry cannot control are discouraged, depressed or without hope had more anxiety/concern infected; contrast, lived on coast independent dependent workers less concerned. In conclusion, there important greater for disease, especially among women anxious depressed. findings should be evaluated populations prevent deterioration mental health.
