Non-specific Lipid Transfer proteins (nsLTPs) are relevant allergens of several pollens and plant foods. Sensitization to nsLTPs is not typical in our region. Still, it has become an increasingly common cause IgE-mediated food allergies food-induced anaphylaxis Northern Europe recent decades. No in-depth studies describe the prevalence sensitization molecular components Lithuania. This study aimed determine profile atopic patients at Immunology Allergy Department Kauno Klinikos nsLTPs, using allergen component analysis. Sixty Lithuanian adults with symptoms allergic rhinitis and/or asthma were included into study. Specific immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels measured two vitro techniques: extract Results showed that 25% subjects sensitized nsLTP-containing sources, mostly Zea m 14, Mal d 3, Vit v 1, Art 3. The median amount total IgE was higher nsLTP-sensitized than nsLTP-nonsensitized patients. Based on Cohen’s Kappa McNemar tests, results analysis tests do always agree, especially when we sources containing nsLTPs. Molecular could be first choice determining detailed who experienced unknown origin.

In recent years, there has been a global increase in the prevalence of allergic diseases, including rhinitis, chronic rhinosinusitis, asthma, atopic dermatitis, conjunctivitis, and food allergies. Since pathogenic mechanisms these diseases are not yet fully understood, targeted effective therapies lacking. The NLRP3 inflammasome, multiprotein complex implicated various inflammatory can be activated by diverse stimuli. It assembles into inflammasome complexes through conformational changes, initiating proteolytic cleavage dormant procaspase-1 active caspase-1 promoting maturation cytokines, IL-1β IL-18. Dysfunction may serve as key driver leading to pyroptosis amplifying local response. As preliminarily demonstrated, specific vesicle inhibitors play refectory roles animal models it is believed that potential therapeutic agents for diseases. This review highlights progress research on explores its contribution different types identifies promising clinical targets intervention.

According to the definition provided by United Nations, “climate change” describes persistent alterations in temperatures and weather trends. These may arise naturally, such as fluctuations solar cycle. Nonetheless, since 19th century, human activities have emerged primary agent for climate change, primarily attributed combustion of fossil fuels coal, oil, gas. Climate change can potentially influence well-being, agricultural production, housing, safety, employment opportunities all individuals. The immune system is an important interface through which global affects health. Extreme heat, events environmental pollutants could impair both innate adaptive responses, promoting inflammation genomic instability, increasing risk autoimmune chronic inflammatory diseases. Moreover, has impact on soil gut microbiome composition, further explain changes health outcomes. This narrative review aims explore disease, focusing specifically its effects microbiota. Understanding how these factors contribute development physical mental illness allow design strategies aimed at reducing negative pollution

ABSTRACT Antibodies play a vital role in the immune system, with distinct isotypes having unique tropisms and performing specialized functions. Of these isotypes, IgE is least abundant circulation yet plays critical defense against parasitic infection allergic reactions. also heavily N‐linked glycosylated, posttranslational modification that influences receptor interactions of effector responses. The importance glycosylation on IgG function well established, roles glycans are emerging. This review examines relationship between its biological function. glycosylation, specifically oligomannosidic glycan, necessary for binding to high‐affinity FcεRI mast cells basophils. Recent evidence suggests terminal sialic acid residues complex biantennary significantly enhance IgE's potential, sialylation demonstrating reduced capacity trigger degranulation anaphylaxis. Glycosylation interaction low‐affinity FcεRII/CD23, affecting serum clearance antigen presentation. Beyond allergy, this covers impacts autoimmunity, parasite defense, protection venoms. Current therapeutic approaches targeting include monoclonal antibodies like omalizumab, emerging therapeutics looking target systemic production mechanisms covered.
