Intensively
farmed
animals
such
as
pigs
inevitably
experience
a
certain
degree
of
psychological
stress,
which
leads
to
reduction
in
production
performance.
Mental
health
traits
are
currently
difficult
measure,
resulting
gap
understanding
their
genetic
basis.
To
address
this
challenge,
we
propose
computational
framework
called
mental
(MeHA),
capable
revealing
genes
related
animal
traits.
Using
MeHA,
identified
109
candidate
associated
with
pig
and
discovered
intricate
connections
critical
functions,
memory,
cognition,
neural
development,
essential
components
cognitive
Importantly,
our
findings
provide
evidence
the
potential
impact
these
on
economically
important
traits,
including
meat
quality
piglet
survival.
This
research
underscores
importance
studies
enhancing
behavior
well
promoting
agricultural
practices.
By
applying
approach
study
basis
case,
confirmed
that

effective

Semen
quality
and
persistence
are
critical
for
evaluating
the
usability
of
individual
boars
in
AI,
a
standard
practice
pig
breeding.
We
conducted
GWASs
on
various
semen
traits
Duroc
boars,
including
MOT,
DEN,
ABN,
MMP,
AIR,
ROS
levels.
These
were
assessed
using
FCM
CASA.

total
1183
genotyped
GeneSeek
GGP
Porcine
50
K
SNP
BeadChip.
The
GWAS
was
performed
three
different
models:
GLM,
MLM,
FarmCPU.
Additionally,
trait
heritability
estimated

multiple-trait
PBLUP
models,
yielding
0.19,

respectively.
