Semen quality and persistence are critical for evaluating the usability of individual boars in AI, a standard practice pig breeding. We conducted GWASs on various semen traits Duroc boars, including MOT, DEN, ABN, MMP, AIR, ROS levels. These were assessed using FCM CASA. A total 1183 genotyped GeneSeek GGP Porcine 50 K SNP BeadChip. The GWAS was performed three different models: GLM, MLM, FarmCPU. Additionally, trait heritability estimated single- multiple-trait PBLUP models, yielding 0.19, 0.29, 0.13, 0.18, 0.11, 0.14 ROS, respectively. All exhibited low except which demonstrated medium heritability. Nine candidate genes (GPX5, AWN, PSP-II, CCDC62, TMEM65, SLC8B1, TRPV4, UBE3B, SIRT5) potentially associated with traits. antioxidant mitochondrial functions porcine sperm. Our findings provide insight into genetic architecture identified SNPs may enhance economic outcomes breeding industry while improving sperm through targeted strategies.

Intensively farmed animals such as pigs inevitably experience a certain degree of psychological stress, which leads to reduction in production performance. Mental health traits are currently difficult measure, resulting gap understanding their genetic basis. To address this challenge, we propose computational framework called mental (MeHA), capable revealing genes related animal traits. Using MeHA, identified 109 candidate associated with pig and discovered intricate connections critical functions, memory, cognition, neural development, essential components cognitive Importantly, our findings provide evidence the potential impact these on economically important traits, including meat quality piglet survival. This research underscores importance studies enhancing behavior well promoting agricultural practices. By applying approach study basis case, confirmed that is an effective way reveal factors affecting contributes welfare has implications for human disorders.
