Canada
has
a
mandate
to
transition
electric
vehicles
(EVs)
decarbonize
transportation.
While
the
EV
charging
infrastructure
is
expanding
in
urban
areas,

inter-city

nature-based
tourism
not
been
assessed.
This
study
combined
four
metrics
feasibility
convenience
into
an
readiness
index
evaluate
94
road
trip
itineraries
associated
with
Canada’s
iconic
national
parks.
Index
scores
ranged
from
possible
(0)
equal
travel
experience
internal
combustion
vehicle
(20).
With
summer
range,
average
one-day
route
score
was
19.2,
as
82%
could
be
completed
without
requiring
additional
charging.
Multi-day
routes
scored
lower
(14.0),
24%
being
highly
inconvenient
or
impossible
due
gaps
between
stations.
reduced
winter
one-
multi-day
trips
declined
needs
increased
(18.4
13.2,
respectively).
Across
routes,
EVs
were
estimated
produce
only
17%
carbon
dioxide
emissions
(this

provinces).

regional

Climate
change
is
being
felt
across
all
human
and
natural
systems
in
Aotearoa
New

projected
