The raspberry-red grossular, discovered in the Sierra de Cruces Coahuila, Mexico, is characterized by its zoned coloration, featuring a pink rim and black mantle with sharp color transition at border. However, there notable lack of definitive systematic identification characteristics pertaining to special zones. mineral chemical composition chromogenic mechanism remain unsupported empirical validation derived from specific experimental data. In this study, gemological properties, composition, spectral are systematically analyzed explore formation zonal genesis. results X-ray diffraction pattern, Raman spectrum, major elements’ show that grossular samples high purity. Mn ions direct coloring factor samples, while Fe elements mantle. MnO content ranges 0.15 wt% 1.72 wt%. FeO 3.11 5.09 wt%, which generally higher than other parts. trace element compositions reveal core were formed an oxidative environment (δEu = 0.43–2.41), could be hydrothermal metasomatic skarn (δ18O 11.03–12.14); mantles reducing 0.42–0.85), consistent magmatic 11.40–11.66). They also surrounding rocks provide part compositional sources for interact mantle, affects rim. This study offers geological insights, addressing significant void lays foundation follow-up investigations.
