The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the application barriers internal mechanisms BIM technology in green building projects. It found that can effectively integrate information optimize management, but its still faces economic externalities requires government intervention promote development. Through analysis five aspects technology, economy, policy environment, we identified 16 influencing factors focused on nine key factors, such as insufficient maturity high-cost issues. Research shows management play a fundamental role adoption influence effectiveness through complex interactions. Purpose The purpose of the paper is to propose a novel Green-BIM team (GBT) through framework that would be essential in mitigating barriers integration. Design/methodology/approach An interpretive stance adopted for this study. Through qualitative survey, 25 experts with proficiency green building construction and information modelling (BIM) implementation were interviewed. Code-based content analysis was carried out using NVivo12. Findings findings study signified need GBT proposed architect, client, Green consultant, designer (mechanical, electrical plumbing [MEP], structural), BIM coordinator, engineer (MEP, project manager, quantity surveyor facilities manager involved representing design phase, phase operational phase.
