MXenes, a family of 2D transition metal carbides, nitrides, and carbonitrides, have gained significant attention in recent years for their promising applications electrochemical energy storage systems. This review systematically examines the progress use MXenes as electrodes lithium‐ion batteries, highlighting synthesis methods, structural characteristics, properties. The advancements achieved are discussed utilizing focusing on performance metrics such capacity, cycling stability, rate capability. Strategies to enhance MXene‐based electrode through surface functionalization engineering explored.
