Food-related cognitive reappraisal refers to reinterpreting thoughts about eating and can be used downregulate the desire eat. Food has been proposed as a method for treating obesity overweight. However, influence of food on affective states understudied. The present study examined role played by negative affect in effects reappraisal. Two experiments were conducted, each included 40 healthy participants. In Experiment 1, participants engaged dual task that combined with an emotion picture rating task. results demonstrated reappraising eat craved foods increased negativity ratings emotionally neutral pictures. 2 if increase after engaging mediates effect this experiment, reappraisal, they subjectively rated their previously depicted food.
