Polyphenols from kiwi by-products (PKWP) have been previously reported to an inhibitory effect on cancer cells; but, the potential anti-cancer mechanism remains unknown. Metabolic alterations in cells provide bioenergy and substances for uncontrolled proliferation development, interfering with metabolic pathways has regarded as effective impeding progression. Cancer are also characterised by a relatively higher level of oxidative stress enhanced antioxidant defence system, facilitating multiple stages tumorigenesis. Anti-cancer mechanisms PKWP based redox homeostasis HepG2 were thus investigated present work. The results showed that effectively decreased cell viability concentration-dependent manner. caused disorders cells, significantly affected content about 32 metabolites. mainly inhibited saccharide synthesis glycolysis, restricted utilisation amino acids. stimulated ROS production, lipid peroxidation, resulting damage. down-regulated activities T-SOD CAT, GSH, protein expressions HO-1 COX-2, weakening cellular capacity. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive condition marked by multiple underlying mechanisms. Therefore, the investigation of natural products that can target pathways presents potential gate for understanding and management AD. This study aimed to assess neuroprotective effects hydroalcoholic extract Dracocephalum moldavica (DM) on cognitive impairment, biomarker changes, putative metabolic in rat model AD induced intracerebroventricular streptozotocin (ICV-STZ).
