The wave-driven floating photobioreactors (PBRs) with advantages of easy in scaling-up, low energy inputs and fabricating cost, hold great potential for massive cost-energy effective microalgae production. However, their applications may be seriously challenged by intermittent waves that could produce very poor mixing under wave conditions, leading to a significant reduction biomass productivity or even collapse the cultures. To improve utilization efficiency efficient stable production PBRs, this work aims at numerically studying fluid-dynamics as well effects from culture depth three different PBRs’ structures square, rectangular circular types. results showed liquid inside PBRs follow periodic sinusoidal reciprocating flow, square PBR had aggressive characteristics high excitation frequency, while produced more intense frequency. Regarding depth, dependence on decreasing trend. Moreover, indicated several dead zones, although there was apparent upward flow This provides valuable insight into increasing enhancement design.
