The common carp (Cyprinus carpio) is a crucial freshwater species cultivated worldwide for food consumption. Female have better growth performance than males, which fascinates scholars to uncover the mechanism of gonadal differentiation and produce mono-sex populations. However, ovarian development at single-cell resolution limited. Here, we conducted single-nucleus RNA sequencing in adolescent ovaries. Our study obtained transcriptional profiles 13,155 nuclei revealed 13 distinct cell clusters ovaries, including three subtypes germ cells four granulosa cells. We subsequently performed pseudotime trajectory analysis delineate potential mechanisms underlying identified 1250 dynamic expression genes 1815 (q-value < 0.01), zp3, eif4a2 aspm fshr esr1 functional annotation showed that were involved sperm–egg recognition some terms related meiosis, such as sister chromatid segregation homologous recombination. In addition, might relate complex communication between different types. summary, our provided transcriptome profile ovaries resolution, further type-specific oogenesis cells, will facilitate breeding all-female
