Over the past few decades, ocean hypoxia has been increasing due to human activities. Hypoxic stress, characterized by a reduced level of dissolved oxygen, is an escalating threat marine ecosystems, with potentially devastating effects on viability endangered species such as tri-spine horseshoe crab Tachypleus tridentatus. Even though this remarkably resilient low oxygen levels, persistent can negatively impact its population's survivability. The objective research was examine short-term behavior, gut microbiota, and metabolomics juvenile T. First instar crabs were subjected hypoxic stress (2 mg O2/L) for 14 days then recovered 7 in environment normal oxygen. findings demonstrated that rates swimming burrowing crabs, induced change tissue metabolites intestinal flora malfunction. Additionally, groups day 14, 86 distinct showed trend downregulation, while 29 upregulation trend. Arginine biosynthesis; histidine metabolism; vitamin B6 aminoacyl-tRNA alanine, aspartate, glutamate metabolism top five metabolic KEGG pathways (p < 0.05) enriched 8 metabolites. In conclusion, our results provided new insights related behaviors, involved tridentatus exposed conditions confirmed impairs their behavioral physiological status.

Tea tree oil (TTO) is an essential plant with diverse antibacterial and antioxidant properties; however, whether the role played by TTO in low fish meal (LF) diets induced observed effects farmed crustaceans remains unclear. Therefore, this study used Macrobrachium rosenbergii as model crustacean, 8-week feeding experiment NF (normal meal), LF (soybean replacing 40% LFT (LF 200 mg/kg TTO) was conducted to evaluate positive of under diet. Compared diet, diet reduced hemolymph capacity non-specific immunity, hepatopancreas apoptosis damage. However, comparison LF, LTF significantly ameliorated morphological impairment hepatopancreas, improved energy metabolism upregulating Bcl-2/Bax Akt/mTOR pathways, enhanced immune activating NF-κB/NO pathway. In addition, repaired intestinal barrier injury imbalance microbiota Moreover, Pearson correlation revealed variations above indicators, which were related abundance changes Klebsiella, Clostridium sensu stricto 12, Thermobifida, Bifidobacterium, Alistipes, indicating that these microbes might serve prospective targets for intestine-hepatopancreas axis affect apoptosis, metabolism, immunity. summary, supplementation mediated gut positively thereby alleviating dysplasia damage M. rosenbergii.

The Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis) is one of the most commercially important crustacean species in China. aim this study was to characterize toxic effects butachlor (an herbicide acetanilide class) on juvenile E. sinensis crabs. lethal and acute toxicity specimens were assessed through a semi-static vitro experiment. We determined activities superoxide dismutase (SOD) catalase (CAT) as well levels glutathione (GSH) malondialdehyde (MDA) gills hepatopancreas crabs, at different time points over 14-day short-term exposure butachlor. Moreover, we measured residual three tissues (gills, hepatopancreas, muscles) crabs longer period.
