In this work, the essential oil of black pine (Pinus nigra J. F. Arnold) was used for first time as a natural, ecological, and sustainable corrosion inhibitor acid cleaning carbon steel. The extracted by hydrodistillation using Clevenger-type apparatus, analyzed gas chromatography–flame–ionization detection (GC–FID) chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS). most abundant components in were α-pinene, germacrene D, (E)-cariophyllene, β-pinene. inhibition efficiency determined electrochemical methods (electrochemical impedance spectroscopy potentiodynamic polarization measurements). results showed that inhibitory increases with time, reaching highest values after 4 h immersion all concentrations. It also shown is mixed-type inhibitor. contact angle measurements confirmed oil, new environmentally safe inhibitor, able to protect steel from 1 M HCl solution.

The present study investigates the inhibition potential of Tinospora cordifolia extract in combination with different methanol solvents on corrosion carbon steel artificial seawater environments. Potentiodynamic polarization (PDP) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) methods were utilized to evaluate this inhibitor. measurement data show a positive correlation among efficiency (%IE), inhibitor concentration, temperature, time. However, above 320 K, has slight decline, as well when exposure duration extends beyond 30 minutes. highest observed was 85.94%, achieved by incorporating 300 mgL−1 T. (at 310 K). suggested occur through adsorption metal surface complies Langmuir isotherm. potentiodynamic analysis findings demonstrated that mainly acted mixed EIS suggests became effective increasing charge transfer resistance (Rct) adsorbing surface. FE-SEM verified enhances smoothness specimen. mode prevention is validated change chemical composition elemental examined EDX studies. contains numerous aromatic phenolic compounds. FT-IR confirmed presence several compounds N OH bonds extract. It been established could be used for marine environment.

Abstract This study evaluated Aloe vera extract as a green inhibitor to prevent corrosion in seawater environments. A. was produced by maceration with methanol–water at room temperature. Electrochemical techniques were used evaluate the effectiveness of extract. The morphology products analyzed FE-SEM equipped EDS and AFM. FT-IR LCMS characterized functional structural groups this electrochemical measurements show that could effectively reduce API 5L steel Inhibition efficiency (IE) increases increasing concentration. Optimal inhibition around 83.75% (PDP) 88.60% (EIS) obtained adding 300 mg L −1 310 K. Furthermore, higher concentration extract, greater activation energy (E ), highest being 48.24 kJ mol for . Conversely, temperature exposure duration reduces values; best period 30 min 88.34% IE is achieved adsorption process bioactive on metal surfaces mixed through physisorption-chemisorption mechanism. finding confirmed smoother surface treated than without. unveiling investigation found has potential be an environmentally friendly environment.
