Localized disorders, even though originally confined to a specific body part, can progress into potentially life-threatening systemic disorders if treated inappropriately. Local treatment is often highly challenging due poor penetration of therapeutic agents from their vehicles the affected site. Systemic on other hand comes with unspecific side effects. The skin largest organ body, and conditions such as wounds bacterial or fungal infections disrupt its natural barrier properties, important for homeostasis human body. Advanced drug delivery systems treating these could greatly improve outcome patient compliance. Other parts that are interest regarding localized are, example, eyes along mucosal tissues which present in vagina lungs. Rather than focusing diseases this review provides an overview different platforms have been employed enhanced local treatment. following will be discussed: nanoparticle-based systems, nanocrystals, polymeric, lipidic, inorganic nanoparticles, nanogels; cyclodextrin inclusion complexes; several devices like microarray patches, wound dressings, films.

Globally, wound care has become a significant burden on public health, with annual medical costs reaching billions of dollars, particularly for the long-term treatment chronic wounds. Traditional treatments, such as gauze and bandages, often fail to provide an ideal healing environment due their lack effective biological activity. Consequently, researchers have increasingly focused developing new dressings. Among these, electrospinning technology garnered considerable attention its ability produce nano-scale fine fibers. This type dressing, unique physical chemical properties-especially in enhancing breathability, increasing specific surface area, optimising porosity, improving flexibility-demonstrates advantages promoting healing, reducing risk infection, overall outcomes. Additionally, application natural products from plants further enhances effectiveness These not only exhibit good biocompatibility but are also rich pharmacologically active ingredients, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant compounds. They can serve both substrate nanofibers bioactive components, effectively cell proliferation tissue regeneration, thereby accelerating complications. article reviews plant product prepared by focussing development optimisation these nanofibers, discussing challenges using this technology, outlining future research directions prospects field.
