Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) is poorly understood, with causes identified in only 25% of cases. Emerging evidence suggests links between trace elements (TEs) and POI. This study the first to compare concentrations manganese (Mn), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), selenium (Se), molybdenum (Mo), arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), lead (Pb) across urine, serum, whole blood women POI compared healthy controls (HC), aiming explore their distribution potential associations cross-sectional-case-control enrolled 81 participants (40 patients 41 controls) at University Medical Centre Ljubljana, Slovenia. Blood urine samples were collected quantify basic biochemical parameters using standard clinical chemistry methods Mn, Cu, Zn, Se, Mo, As, Cd, Hg, Pb inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Participants also completed questionnaires on socio-demographics, medical history, lifestyle, nutrition. Data was analyzed Mann–Whitney U test, Student's t-tests, Fisher exact logistic regression models adjusted body mass index (BMI), age, hematocrit, Kendall's tau correlation. Women had significantly higher BMI red cell (RBC) indices, including hemoglobin, width (RDW), controls. A larger proportion resided rural agricultural areas. Liver kidney function assessments showed no significant differences groups. Adjusted revealed that lower urinary levels than controls, while Mn higher. Serum Cu elevated patients, whereas Pb, Hg lower. No observed for As. Correlation analysis several strong moderate among TEs biofluids, but weak correlations found demographic or factors. women. Notably, most (Zn, Pb) group, both serum.

Perimenopausal women have fluctuating estrogen levels, which often trigger a range of symptoms perimenopausal syndromes as levels decrease. Changes in are closely related to pain knee osteoarthritis (KOA), has long been research area great interest women. In recent years, it found that an important role KOA pain, namely, can affect through the regulation inflammatory responses, inhibition cellular senescence and apoptosis, modulation neurotransmitters, may provide new ideas for treatment. This study aims describe mechanism level on perimenopause non-pharmacological measures, such physical therapy, factor traditional Chinese medicine, diet, reference treatment with KOA.
