The function of insect external genitalia has played a significant role in exploring mating mechanisms and male fertilization strategies. However, due to the privacy genital coupling, copulatory have only been investigated few groups. In this study, we observed behavior using freeze-fixated pairs copula reveal mechanism longhorn beetle Moechotypa diphysis (Pascoe, 1871). At beginning stage mating, M. usually takes 30 min control female then extends its median lobe endophallus. Approximately 80% males (19/24) exhibit multiple expansions (the membranous endophallus expands enters into tract), ranging from two five times. There are types expansions: short ones lasting for 1.4 49 s long 1.03 7.23 min. During copulation, tarsi continuously grasped elytra, thorax, abdomen help initiate maintain copulation. Male structures closely connected structures: apical phallomere flagellum on contacting bursa copulatrix duct spermathecal female, abundant microstructures surface everted directly anchoring tract. Finally, discuss possible reasons evolution their complex mating-related structures. Our research will explore evolutionary
