This paper introduces the comprehensive value function, a novel framework designed to address multi-dimensional challenges in sustainability assessment within decision-making processes. Multi-criteria methods based on multi-attribute utility theory excel at integrating environmental, social, and economic factors but typically focus positive neutral impacts. limitation often results oversight of critical negative consequences, thus restricting their effectiveness all-encompassing evaluations. The proposed addresses this gap by quantifying degree satisfaction across full spectrum impacts outcomes essential for holistic assessments. necessity model is highlighted shortcomings current practices, where adverse are frequently overlooked existing frameworks fail foresee repercussions various alternatives. By facilitating creation positive, negative, or piecewise functions, CVF provides reflection impacts, well-informed decisions. Integrating function into established models leads more balanced approach adept navigating intricate trade-offs inherent sustainable development. Traditionally, civil engineering infrastructures have been represented through two-dimensional (2D) drawings, which can lead to interpretation errors and jeopardize engineers' understanding of complex projects. However, with the development building information modeling (BIM) methodology, projects now be virtually modeled in three-dimensional (3D), offering a more accurate representation. Augmented reality (AR) tools linked BIM models for educational purposes, allowing immersive interactive learning experience. While previous studies focused on improving visualization mechanical this study presents low-cost AR tool visualizing its application courses. To achieve this, main state-of-the-art software was compared their characteristics functionalities, software, Unity, selected develop an tool. In the search of more environmentally-friendly construction materials, use natural-based fibers has gained much attention as reinforcement in inorganic-based matrix. this paper, nonwoven flax fabric reinforced lime composites are created using a dewatering technique, and serviceability parameters –thermal conductivity, sound absorption coefficient, residual flexural resistance after exposure to elevated temperature– determined experimentally. The tests carried out on two different prepared under distinct curing regimens, i.e., accelerated carbonation CO2 chamber natural laboratory conditions, evaluate effect forced carbonation. addition, experimental results included MIVES model (Integrated Value Model for Sustainability Assessment) social sustainability developed material an interior drywall panel. MIVES, type multi-criteria decision-making method, is based value function concept seminars with experts. According tests, cured sample higher thermal conductivity (∼4 times) lower coefficients (∼20%) than naturally one. Nonetheless, performance former 50% (at room temperature) 100% better. As index assessed by MIVES-based multi-objective approach, it ranges between 0.65 0.75 (out 1.0) both composite panels, at least 20% control panel no reinforcement. designed research can be used assessing other materials although weights assigned experts could adapted reflect perceptions local preferences.

The development of low-cost structural and environmental sensors has sparked a transformation across numerous fields, offering cost-effective solutions for monitoring infrastructures buildings. However, the affordability these often comes at expense accuracy. To enhance precision, LARA (Low-cost Adaptable Reliable Anglemeter) system averaged measurements set five different accelerometers working as inclinometers. it is worth noting that LARA’s sensitivity still falls considerably short achieved by other high-accuracy commercial solutions. There are no works presented in literature to accuracy, resolution inclinometers using artificial intelligence (AI) tools measuring deformation. fill gaps, techniques used elevate precision an inclinometer. proposed AI-driven tool uses Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) glean insight from devices’ responses. efficacy practicality substantiated through real steel frame located Cuenca, Spain.
