Despite growing attention from researchers and governments, challenges persist in comprehensively assessing urban sound quality by integrating both quietness naturalness aspects. This study aimed to develop an innovative soundscape index that concurrently evaluates soundscapes. Our objectives included conducting mapping, analyzing influential mechanisms, identifying priority zones for environment management. We collected pressure level (SPL) raw audio data, which we computed a normalized difference (NDSI). With dataset comprising 28 explanatory variables encompassing land use, built environment, vegetation characteristics, temporal factors, employed the random forest (RF) model predict 10 indicators, including eight SPL-related indices, NDSI, QNS (quietness soundscape) index. Crucially, utilized SHAP (SHapley Additive exPlanations) values interpret RF model. Spatial variations were evident, closely associated with road networks vegetation, respectively, discernible variations. The top three influencing distance major roads, (NDVI), proportion of tree coverage. Moreover, interaction effects highlighted dual negative or synergistic promoting on factors such as width, human disturbance, configurations, cover. Notably, these mechanisms successfully applied six typical tourist attractions Xiamen city, where five types management mapped based considerations population density quality. Interestingly, natural reserves highly correlated city parks, high-risk predominantly overlapped networks, potential comprised inner communities between streets. framework demonstrated effectiveness exploring guiding strategies environment.
