Pulmonary inflammation may lead to neuroinflammation resulting in neurological dysfunction, and it is associated with a variety of acute chronic lung diseases. Paeonol an herbal phenolic compound anti-inflammatory anti-oxidative properties. The aim this study understand the beneficial effects paeonol on cognitive impairment, pulmonary its underlying mechanisms. inflammation-associated deficit was observed TNFα-stimulated mice, mitigated impairment by reducing expressions interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain-containing 3 (NLRP3) hippocampus. Moreover, elevated plasma miR-34c-5p lung-inflammed mice also reduced paeonol. induced intratracheal instillation TNFα resulted immune cells infiltration bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, edema, fibrosis, these inflammatory responses were alleviated orally. In MH-S alveolar macrophages, tumor necrosis factor (TNF) α- phorbol myristate acetate (PMA)-induced inflammasome activation ameliorated addition, antioxidants paeonol, reactive oxygen species production reduced. study, demonstrates protective against deficits exerting properties, suggesting powerful benefit as potential therapeutic agent.

Sepsis is a condition that greatly impacts the brain, leading to neurological dysfunction and heightened mortality rates, making it one of primary organs affected. Injury central nervous system can be attributed various throughout entire body imbalances within peripheral immune system. Furthermore, injury create vicious circle with infection-induced disorders. We collate pathogenesis septic encephalopathy, which involves microglial activation, programmed cell death, mitochondrial dysfunction, endoplasmic reticulum stress, neurotransmitter imbalance, blood–brain barrier disruption. also spotlight effects intestinal flora its metabolites, enterocyte-derived exosomes, cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway, T cells their cytokines on encephalopathy.
